Introduction:

Like many Spotify Users, I rely on Spotify for discovering enjoyable music to listen to, as well as creating playlists with my friends. However, when creating a collaborative playlist with others, I struggle to create one that I like listening to. There are often songs I dislike that my friends had added.

Most Spotify users struggle to have collaborative playlists that they want to listen to and enjoy because:

1. People may have different purposes for a playlist that don’t align with other collaborators.

2. It is hard for people to keep an open mind and welcome their friends’ suggestions since many people have different preferences.

While Spotify’s mobile app lets users create individual playlists with their songs of choice, there is no collaborative option that allows them to discover new enjoyable music.

So what is missing from this app?
